British scientists announced making of human sperm from embryo steam cells. It is world premiere. This sperm made in lab will not use to inseminate, because it is forbidden by law. Scientist hope to quick change of law to this technique can be used to therapy man sterility. Agency AFP informed about it.

Team from university in Newcastle North East England Stem Cell Institute (NESCI) conducted by professor Karim Nayernia researched new technology enabling produce human sperm in lab from embryo stem cells with men’s chromosome XY.

Professor Nayernia hopes to upgrade the technology to use by young men, who had to undertake chemotherapy, which do sterility.

“It is big footstep, because it enabled to scientist detailed study about creating of sperm. And it can bring to the better insight men sterility, its creating and its causation”, said professor Nayernia.

“It enabled to us research new devices for help to pairs, who are sterility and cannot have to child. This device belongs from genetic angle to the pairs”, said.
